WARRIOR LAUNCHES A LEGEND
Los Angeles, CA (May 11, 2005) - Jim Ervin, CEO, L.A. Entertainment, Inc. and Rande Volpert, Dir. of West Coast A&R for Warrior Records, have announced the creation of Warrior Legends, a new division of Warrior Records.
“Mr. Volpert and I will be involved in bringing established Adult Contemporary, Rock, R&B, and Country acts to the Warrior Legends label. Rande will also continue to work with new talent, as well as the current Warrior roster,” said Ervin. “We have often spoken about working with known artists. Many of them are touring and their classic songs still receive extensive airplay, but we rarely hear anything new from these acts. Warrior Legends has been structured to offer an opportunity for these types of artists to work back toward the mainstream,” relates Ervin. “For numerous reasons, the majors may not be interested or able to redevelop these types of careers, but for me, once a hit, always a threat.”
“We look forward to working with some of the best artists in the business,” said Mr. Volpert. “Currently, Jim is producing a new album on A/C staple Benny Mardones and we are closing a deal with former Scritti Politti bassist, Joe Cang, for a solo album release. We believe that other well known artists will want to work with a label that is not just interested in repackaging past recordings, but wants to bring new music to their fans,” expresses Volpert. “Large labels seem to be recycling the same recordings over and over in compilations. This is a slap in the face to the fans. I regularly attend numerous shows by the veteran acts and many still have huge followings! When they play something new in their set, it leaves the fans wanting more, but they don’t have a way to get that material to them. Warrior Legends will make that happen.”
