BENNY MARDONES, CARLOS SANTANA, AND STEVIE WONDER
TO COLLABORATE ON CHARITY ALBUM

Los Angeles, CA (May 9, 2006) - Benny “The Voice” Mardones will be participating on the non-profit album release, Think About the Children, all proceeds of which will be dedicated to raising money and awareness for Nevada Injury Prevention / ThinkFirst Nevada and various children’s charities throughout the state of Nevada. Celebrated musicians Carlos Santana, Stevie Wonder, Neil Diamond, Diana Ross, Patti LaBelle, Macy Gray, Willie Nelson, Eddie Money, and a number of other yet-to-be-named Grammy-winning performers are to be participating in the project. The album, which will be released summer 2006, was produced by Marino DeSilva, an international award-winning guitarist and founder of the Angels on Earth, Music for Healing Foundation.

DeSilva’s non-profit organization has served as the official music sponsor for The Muhammad Ali International Parkinson’s Center, Cedars Sinai, UCLA Oncology Department, Martin Luther King Jr Medical Center, ad B’Shert Integrative Oncology Services. He has taken his charitable efforts a step further with the Think About the Children album, which he spearheaded with help from Debbie Kreun of Nevada Injury Prevention / ThinkFirst Nevada and Ruth McCartney, a well-known music industry vet and sister to Paul McCartney. Ruth, a recent recipient of the “Angels Across America” award for her generous humanitarian efforts, penned and co-produced the title track to the album.

“Ruth has been a supporter of the Angels on Earth Foundation for years,” says Mardones. “She has an incredible ear for music and is always willing to go the extra mile to make sure her art is benefiting someone else. When I heard about her involvement in this wonderful project, I just couldn’t say no.”

Nevada Injury Prevention / Thinkfirst Nevada was created through the state health division to educate the public about safety. Injury is the leading cause of death and disability among children and young adults in the state of Nevada, and in most cases is easily preventable with extra care and caution. Thinkfirst Nevada was recognized as 2005’s “Newcomer Chapter of the Year” at the 17th Annual ThinkFirst State Chapter Director’s Conference. There are approximately 275 local chapters of Thinkfirst in the United States and over 50 international chapters. Over one million children, youth, and adults are educated annually by these programs.

In addition to his contributions on Think About the Children, Benny Mardones has released an album on his own entitled, Let’s Hear it For Love, featuring guest appearance by Eddie Money and Katrina Carlson. Benny is currently scheduling upcoming tour dates, including a number of special appearances at non-profit gatherings that support and honor those in the disabled community.
